A day ago, we featured the upcoming Bat-Mini V2.0 motherboard from ECS. Turns out that it is actually the mainboard of their upcoming LIVA X Mini-PC; something the ECS told us before to address some of the small issues found on their last product. – Which actually turned out pretty good.
The new ECS Liva X will still feature a 0 dB thermal design, all possible via the passively cooled Bat-Mini motherboard. A 22nm Intel Bay Trail-M / I SoC processor is still responsible for the majority of the system’s throughput at 15W, along with the usual extras we found at the last release. This one could actually hit 2.2 GHz though, along with an option for a 4GB variant which is great.

Now the main difference between the Liva X and the old one were the smarty positioning of the I/O, along with Windows 7 support and better Linux support. In addition, the passive cooler has seen a tremendous update which is now a huge slab of cooling surface that also acts as the Liva X’s VESA mount. Aww yiss!
